Father Steve Amman
Fr. Steve Amann was born on June 18, 1948 to Gerald Amann and
Beverly Tuller Amann. He is the oldest of six children. He attended
St. Helen’s Grade School on the south side of Milwaukee and graduated
in 1962. He graduated from De Sales Preparatory Seminary High School
in 1966. He attended St.
Francis de Sales College in Milwaukee and graduated in 1970 with a
BA in Theology. He graduated from St. Francis Seminary in 1974 with a
Master of Divinity (M.Div). He was ordained on May 25th, 1974 at St.
John’s Cathedral in Milwaukee.
His first assignment was as Associate Pastor of
St James Parish in
Menomonee Falls. He was there from 1974 to 1980. Then he became Campus
Minister at Mount Mary College in
Milwaukee. He was there for 3 years. Then he was Associate Pastor at
St. Joseph Parish in Fond du Lac for 2 years. He was then assigned as
Spiritual Director at the Call to Ministry Program for High School
Students. He took his first pastorate in 1987 at
St. Mary Church in Port
Washington. He was there until 1995 when he became pastor of
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in
New Berlin. He left there in 2006 to become pastor here at St. Charles
in Burlington.
